On a Steelhead we Ride

Cause they are wanted…preferably alive!! It is not peak fall season yet but salmon are officially off my target list. The water levels could use a boost to help are steelhead up the river but things are off to a good start for the conditions. The trout bite seems to be temporarily off as they spawn but the post spawn bite should pick up in a couple weeks.

The fall colors are as good as they will get and the river is almost tranquil again as the salmon crowds have moved on. Come up and enjoy a day on the river. Fall steelhead is potentially the most challenging thing with fins for the fly angler in Michigan. A fall Steel can humble you but will always educate and make you a better angler.
